ABOUT THE FILMS
The program comprises of a wide breadth of documentary and fiction films that challenge the mind and the senses, Films that provoke discourse, CCiff films speak to the fraility of the human condition, which can readily inject conflict, prejudice, ignorance and misunderstanding into what might otherwise have been a positive occurrence.
Ignorance begets conflict. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, and prejudices also begets conflict as well as any number of untoward crimes and social injustices - the stuff great films and great life stories are made of.
A PROPOS DES FILMS
La programmation offre une panoplie de films de fiction et de documentaires qui défient l'esprit et les sens. Et qui poussent à la discussion. Chaque film du CCiff se rapporte à la fragilitéde la condition humaine, où conflits, préjugés, ignorance et malentendus peuvent survenir sans crier gare, pour un rien, alors que tout allait bien.
CCiff spotlights the finest filmmakers, ranging from fresh talent and emerging artists to long-established names
TO illustrate how film, past and present use the concept INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE we have created four main FILM catagories for our festival
YESTERDAY - HIER These films have become classics within their genre, created within the last 7-50 years they are films of substance that speak to intercultural issues. Within this section we will spotlight early African American films and their influence.
TODAY - AUJOURD'HUI Films or filmmakers, that have touched intercultural issues who within the last seven years have been recognized within the industry either through other festivals or through main stream distribution.
TOMORROW - DEMAIN or the "COMPETITION Section" where filmmakers and distributors have offered their film that touch Intercultural dialogue and exchange. These films have not yet been largely distributed and ideally will be first time viewings with a focus on world premieres and regional premieres. These films will be an introduction to filmmakers of tomorrow, making films that further intercultural dialogue and global understanding through the power of cinema.
THE WORLD - LE MONDE film that reflect intercultural dialogue, made during the last 1-5 years, out of the mainstream using their own particular visual language. Films that show alternative ways of telling stories and/or using new technologies to help them achieve their results. These films will identify the boundaries that define individuals reflecting on the human condition and the ONEness of man,

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
To create an international intercultural film festival; a place where films, documentary and fiction propel us to reflect on sameness and differences and, as such, help us to gain a perspective on the essential nature of conflict.
